ABC Supply 500 Preview: Sunday, August 19, 2018 1:30PM (ET) NBCSN – Previous driver experience shows three former winners at Pocono Raceway in the field in Will Power (3), Scott Dixon (1), and Ryan Hunter-Reay (1). The active Top 5 in laps led at Pocono are Power (175), Tony Kanaan (147), Marco Andretti (97), Dixon (92), and Josef Newgarden (73). Team Penske’s Will Power has swept the last two races at Pocono. Looking at the box scores from 2017 and 2016, Power and Newgarden are have each finished in the Top 5 in each of the last two years. If that’s expanded to the Top 10, they’re joined by Kanaan, Dixon, and Ryan Hunter-Reay. Conor Daly is back with Harding Racing again this weekend. Rookie Pietro Fittipaldi will make his Verizon IndyCar Series “superspeedway” debut with Dale Coyne Racing this weekend. My pick to win: Will Power – How can you NOT pick Will Power this weekend? The winner of this year’s 102nd Running of the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race has won the last two races at Pocono and figures to be a strong favorite once again.

My fantasy.indycar.com picks: Will Power, Josef Newgarden, Ed Carpenter, and Tony Kanaan – You know my thoughts on Power. Newgarden has ran strong at Pocono in recent years and will have reliable Penske power once again. Carpenter and Kanaan should provide great value with their oval prowess and strength shown at Indianapolis earlier this season.
