Up Next… Texas

Well, it is time to change things up a bit. After two solid races on street circuits the IndyCar Series will be having a two-day test session at Texas Motor Speedway.  INDYCAR reports that on the April 16th-17th test there will be Nineteen car/driver combinations. These drivers will represent all the teams in the series.

Texas

Texas Motor Speedway reported that April 16th’s test session will start at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. local time (Central Time Zone), and will be open to the public.

Several Rookie drivers will be present, some getting their first taste of the fast 1.5 mile Texas Motor Speedway. Jack Hawksworth, will be one of the rookies learning the Speedway for the first time. He had this to say about the test:

“I am looking forward to the test at Texas to see what one of these things is like on an oval. I’ve never been to Texas before, so it will be interesting to see the layout. It looks unique for an oval, especially the ones I’ve been on.”

In addition to Hawksworth, other IndyCar Series rookies, Carlos Munoz and Mikhail Aleshin will be taking there first laps at Texas Motor Speedway.

If you have never been to an open test, I would recommend going. I’ve been to several IndyCar tests, and although the action can be slow at times, for hardcore fans it will do a wonderful job of tiding them over until the actual race week arrives in the first week of June.
